Gratitude Practice

I have been practising gratitude for a couple of years now and I'm still amazed at how wonderful it is. The simple act of recording three things each day that you are grateful for really helps positivity and joy run through your life.

Practising gratitude doesn't mean that you will never have a bad day again but it does mean that ever on the bad days you can find good things.

I love sharing this with my children because they always demonstrate just how brilliant it is. When I ask them to tell me three good things about their day, their faces instantly start to change and I can see the happiness in their eyes even before they start smiling, which they always do. Even on hard days, boring days, rainy days or poorly days.

It also really helps me to recognise the smalls things in life, which often pass us by, all too easily taken for granted.

If you haven't tried this before or you have tired it but aren't currently doing it regularly, then find a notebook and pen and leave it by your bed. Try and write three things each night before you go to bed every night for a week and see how it makes you feel.
